Société Générale’s “Go to Cloud” program involves streamlining and centralizing all information systems across its various business units by the end of 2025, offering generic and unified cloud services to the entire group.
The role of the Go To Cloud (GTC) entity is to deliver all IT infrastructure services and capabilities on the public cloud, as well as to support the group’s internal clients in their transitions (cloud native, refactoring).
To strengthen its team of 15 systems and software architects, Société Générale has decided to hire an Infrastructure & Cloud Urban Planner from Synapsys for an information systems urbanization mission.
Société Générale has opted for a hybrid cloud infrastructure. Depending on client needs, the GTS entity will use either Société Générale’s private cloud (global) or the public cloud (Azure and AWS).
The Infrastructure & Cloud Planner at Synapsys is responsible for facilitating the provision of cloud services to internal clients. They are involved in technical project management tasks:
Beyond their role as a technical expert, the Infrastructure & Cloud Planner conducts numerous architecture workshops with various stakeholders.
Société Générale uses the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) agile methodology to manage the GTC program. This is a set of organizational principles and practices designed to guide large companies in implementing agile methods on a large scale to improve value delivery and accelerate transformation.
All teams collaborate during a PI Planning meeting, which takes place every eight weeks and lasts three days. During this meeting, the feature teams analyze all their needs based on management’s priorities, new technical challenges/needs, and emerging issues. All these needs will be integrated into a roadmap and then addressed through iterations until the next PI Planning meeting.
